Making The Most Of Your First Trade ShowIf you are a budding new business looking to market your product as well as network with other brands in your industry, you may have considered attending a trade show.

Trade shows are used for all different industries and they take place all over the world every year. As a new business owner it is a great idea to go to the trade show to show off your product as well as size up the competition and see what other companies are offering for their customers.

For your first trade show you’ll be looking to make a real splash, and today we want to talk about how you can make an impression and wow your audience.

Choose the right show

There are hundreds of thousands of different trade shows around the world that specialise in different things. There are tool shows, kitchen and bathroom shows, pet shows, homeware shows, and medical shows. When researching your industry take the time to find your biggest competitors and see which shows they attend. Find the show which has the right audience for your product and sign up early to get ahead of the crowd.

Go bold with design

When making your mark at a trade show it is very important for you to make a bold impression. Using cnc cutting services you can make amazing display shapes which will elevate your stand. Consider creating an experience for your customers whether this be creating a walk in room if you are selling homeware to an interactive display if you are selling lighting. Creating a great trade show display will make all the difference and will make people want to come back to you again and again throughout their time visiting.

Assign your best salespeople

It is incredibly important when attending a trade show that you don’t just send anyone from your company. When all is said and done, your business is there to network and sell- and salespeople are the most comfortable doing these things for your business. Make sure to choose your finest salespeople and assign some to the stand and some to walk around talking to pier business people.

Dress to impress

When attending a trade show you are representing your business, and as such you should dress smart and professional. Be sure to wear your best dress or suit and also wear practical shoes as you’ll be standing up most of the day. You don’t want to be wearing heels when attending a trade show because it will hurt your feet after a very short time and then you’ll be stuck like that for the remainder of the day!

Book meetings ahead

When attending a trade show in the hopes of selling to other businesses or networking- it is a great idea to get the trade show brochure a month ahead of the event and email people you’d like to meet and speak with. This ensures that you truly make the most of your time in the trade show and don’t waste any good opportunities to mingle and sell.
