The internet bringing people even closer together
If 2020 has taught us anything it is the reliance on technology that enables us to get through our everyday lives whether in the workplace or socially. Those of us that are old enough to recall a life pre-Wi-Fi and no mobile phones, sounds almost like something from an archaic black and white film, but there did exist life before the internet. Of course, now that appears completely alien, and to be fair has been extremely beneficial during these stressful times for us to connect with the ones we love. Researchers and scientists are constantly finding new ways to improve on these technological advancements, which could see the use of a virtual photo booth becoming even more prominent in the future.
So, what is a Virtual Photo Booth?
In essence, it is a form of communicating through an online application which you can utilize any browser, on a device of your choosing, so either your phone, tablet, or laptop.
You then click on a link to start the process, without having to download anything prior to this, and can then take photos, you then add or create filters to the images, so things like Boomerang or GIF. If you are using your laptop you would use your webcam and once finished, embed the code onto a website of your choosing to share afterward.
The benefits of a Virtual Photo Booth
Firstly, and foremost, it enables you to be as creative as you like. The sky’s the limit really. It of course enables you to connect with anyone, anyone in the world. So, it could be a loved one that lives on the other side of the world, or an opportunity to make new friends through an online gaming activity. There is a fun sense of friendly competition between your friends as you compete against each other on who can create the most exciting visuals.
You also have the opportunity to print your own collages and physical prints which you can then send off to surprise a loved one, an utterly unique, personalized idea. This is certainly helpful when you run out of ideas on what to personalize, gift wisely now.
Virtual Reality becoming more prominent
The use of virtual reality is becoming more apparent in the gaming world but this could also transcend into the social aspect too, and certainly will do so within the next 10 to 20 years. Researchers at Northwestern University have been working on a prototype device that will substantially improve how we interact with one another through virtual reality.
They have developed a flexible material that could soon be attached to the VR device which would enable each person using this device to be able to feel as though they are being touched on their skin, as the device would also be attached to the human body. This will be particularly beneficial to those who have had to undergo amputation, enabling them to gradually feel again through this remarkable technological advancement which will become more commonplace in the not too distant future.
This technology could also be applied to the use of VR shirts which will aid those with prosthetics, being able to feel touch through their fingertips. Professor John A Rogers who initiated the project describes this as “a thin, lightweight system that can be worn and used without constraint indefinitely”.
Investments in the technological market
It is also worth noting that investments based around technological advancements are increasingly on the rise so it could be useful if you are looking to invest some money to venture down this avenue as opposed to the traditional stock market.
Looking into micro investing as an investment plan could be an option if you are interested in finding a way to save small amounts of money, but not with a bank. With micro-investing, you can invest in fractional shares, which is a stark contrast to the usual method of whole shares with an investment company. It has become an increasingly popular trend among millennials with at least 3 out 5 of them choosing this investment option, compared to only half of adults aged 30 or older, so this is clearly something to keep an (artificial) eye on.
