Cha-Ching! The Beginner's Guide on How to Invest in GoldYou’ve seen the commercials on television about investing in gold and probably have questions like, “Is gold a good investment?” or “How can I invest in gold?”

If you’re wondering how to buy gold or where to buy gold, it’s time to consider the options you have available and figure out what form of investment is appropriate for your particular circumstances. Remember, investing in gold can be a hedge against political unrest and inflation. We’re in the middle of both.

Many people are discovering that gold investment is a great move in 2021. But how can you reap its benefits? Keep reading to learn how to invest in gold and make a profit!

Gold Bullion

When most people think of gold, gold coins or gold bars come to mind. This is the most widely known form of direct gold ownership. Gold bullion is the better form of gold ownership because it comes in smaller bars and coins and is easier to buy and sell.

Gold bullion is any form of pure or mostly pure gold that’s certified for its weight and purity. Each comes with a serial number for security.

The demand for gold bars and coins has quadrupled over the last two decades. They are easily converted into cash. The downside is you need to safeguard the physical gold and insure it.

Gold bullion is purchased through an online dealer, a local dealer or collector, or even through a pawn shop.

Gold ETFs

Another option is to invest in gold-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs). In this type of fund, each share represents a fixed amount of gold. You can buy and sell these funds like stocks in any brokerage or IRA account.

This is a good strategy for small investors because the minimum investment is whatever the price of a single share of the ETF is at the time.

ETFs are readily exchanged for cash at the market price. Any day that the market is open, you can trade the fund making this more liquid than gold bullion.

Gold Mining

Gold Mining

You can invest in companies that specialize in mining and refining gold. These companies profit when the price of gold rises. You’ll also profit and carry a lower risk.

The value of the stock also depends on the expected future earnings of the company not only on the value of gold.
