7 Ways to Protect Your Family From IllnessBefore this year, you may have only thought about this question while you were traveling abroad and purchasing travel insurance. However, the coronavirus pandemic has instilled in everyone a desire to stay healthy and avoid illness. So, while you may not be able to eliminate the possibility that you or someone from your family may catch an illness, you can work hard to prevent it.

  1. Handwashing

It sounds simple — and it is — but it’s not to be underestimated. Washing your hands each time you enter your home from the outside can stop germs and bacteria from enticing your home and spreading sickness.

  1. Keep antiseptic to hand

Cuts and scrapes — even ones that look minor, can wreak havoc on the body. By reducing the levels of bacteria on your skin, you can reduce the chance of any germs or bacteria getting in and causing an infection. So, an antibacterial lotion such as Zylast can be a tool in your belt against infections.

  1. UV radiation

Investing in a UV light that can effectively fight germs, reduce the spread of viruses and bacteria, and generally help protect your family from illness. You can pick up specific sterilization tools that will disinfect objects if you pass them under them. These products are particularly helpful for hard-to-reach areas, or for objects like your ring that you would rather not use harsh products on, like your mobile phone or tablet.

  1. Protect yourselves outdoors

Filtering the air around you when you breathe is key to keeping illness at bay, particularly during flu season. So, investing in high-quality air filtration masks is key. Masks with valves and filters take protection to the next level, but removing harmful particles and blocking their entrance into your lungs.

  1. Vitamins

You can help the whole family stay well by ensuring no one is deficient in vitamins. To test the levels of the whole family, you can send away samples that will then breakdown the levels of vitamins in your system, so you know exactly what you should be taking. Doctors now commonly recommend vitamin D tablets in the winter, so adding these supplements to your diets is a simple, easy step to supporting your immune systems and keeping illness at bay.

  1. Get vaccinated

It may sound like a simple step, but staying up to date with vaccinations isn’t always that easy. It’s important to check if you’re up to date on all the current vaccines you need — not just when you go on holiday! With effective vaccination, you can protect your family from a whole host of illnesses.

  1. Be proactive

One of the keys to consistent good health is taking preventative action. That means attending health screenings and being aware of the warning signs for illnesses. Depending on the age of you and your family members, you may have to keep a diary to ensure that with each birthday, the right illnesses are checked for.

Hopefully, this article will help you to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
