When you own a business, you’re constantly motivated by the fact that jobs need to be done. This is much easier said than done, but if you’re able to act a lot more optimistically around the place, then everyone else will bounce off it. If this kind of attitude can be achieved, then it will become something that your staff does passively – and that means they’ll probably continue it even when you’re not around.

Again, another easy point to make that will probably be harder to do. During the vetting process, you might want to take into account the aura they give off. It’s all well and good having the qualifications and the know-how, but if they’re a dreary individual, then that might have an effect on the rest of the workforce. If they’re bright, smiley and jokey, then that’s only going to be positive – especially if they suit the job perfectly, too.

It’s easy to become uninterested in things when you do the same thing over and over again with no actual reward or end product. That’s why it’s good, as a boss, to mix things up a little. Don’t Apply Too Much Pressure

When you need jobs to be done, it’s easy to let your employees know that they have a deadline and that they should work a little quicker. Don’t be like that all the time, though. Yes, some people work amazingly under pressure and love having that burden on their shoulders – not everyone is like that, however. You have to approach some people with a softer tone and with an arm around the shoulder.
