Having The Most Productive Staff

If you are looking to have the most successful business, there are two areas that you need to pay close attention to. One of them is your customers – so you are talking about the services that you provide, and having the best customer services that you are able to give. The second is your staff. The happier and more productive your team is, the more likely it is that you’re going to have everything going smoothly.

Team Building

While there might be groan from the office or the shop floor when you mention team building, it is actually great for your productivity levels. When your team has a vested interest in each other, they are more likely to go above and beyond for each other. This means when it comes to projects and deadlines, they will pull together and make it work, even when it is down to the wire. Help them build relationships that matter, with great team building

Safety

If your staff feel safe, they will be able to relax into their work and do what they are there for. This can be making sure you have security cameras installed around the property. Ensuring that your car parks are well lit, if you have a bottom floor often, consider if you need bars. Anti-slip tape on stairs, handrails, and have anti-virus software on all of the computers that your staff use.

Progress

Unless there is a reason for people to want to progress, they probably won’t aim for it. When staff are performing well and meeting the goals that have been set – recognize and reward that. Staff should feel that they are making a contribution and that they are valued. If your employees don’t think that they are making progress and impact or moving forward in their career choice – they will look elsewhere.

Losing well-seasoned staff isn’t great for morale, and changes the dynamics of the group in general.

Work/Life Balance

Having a good work/life balance is something that everyone strives for. Imagine being the employer that makes that more of a possibility Offering things like days working from home, or flexitime for when they arrive and leave (so long as the agreed weekly hours are met).

Place importance on time they spend with their family, and you can include family in work events too.

Goals

Make sure that each team has a range of goals that they should be working towards, and that each individual has a variety of goals too. When a team is working towards a single goal, they are more likely to encourage and motivate each other to meet it to the best of their ability. And, seeing a team meet its goals gives individuals the same boost.

Appreciation

Simply saying “thank you” or that you appreciate the effort can be more rewarding and meaningful than other kinds of bonuses. So make it a habit that when you see outstanding work, you say ‘good job, thank you’ and go further and ask how they came up with the solution or method too.
